"Felicia Adams is a solid new voice in a genre in need of a women's touch"

-Michael D. Clark , critic for The Houston Chronicle

Bio.

Singer Songwriter Felicia Adams was born and raised in White Plains, New York. Felicia was raised in a christian household so her roots started in Gospel Music. Her mom often played Shirley Ceasar, Richard Smallwood , and Andrae Crouch as well as many other Gospel singers in the house. She was heavily influenced by their passion and could hear through the sounds of their voices the anointing they were all blessed with. With that being said Felicia was always an old soul and learned very early on about what the word anointing meant because as a child and into her adulthood she was often told about the anointing she had on Her life. Felicia was the oldest of two sisters she had to grow up and be responsible pretty quick. That taught her patience but it also made her pretty Bossy! lol She did however have some perks of being the oldest sister, and that was having her own room most of her life which allowed her some alone time, she spent a lot of that time letting her imagination run wild by writing short stories, and imaging singing for large crowds.  Felicia kept a composition book of songs that were already playing on the radio performed by other artist, she would study the words to truly understand the story behind the song and if it made sense to her. Felicia is so grateful for those moments because it made her the songwriter she is today! She can be very detailed at times in her lyrics, other times she will have you Saying “wait a minute I know

she didn’t just that”, and then there are those moments where you may have to play it a few times to truly get it. The fact of the matter is Felicia is a clever passionate, and incredible songwriter.

Not being able to listen to R&B music except at a very low volume in her bedroom stifled her, so she always looked forward to spending the weekend with her cousin Monica and her twin cousins Charlene and Nina because they would play music all day and all night from one room to the next there was always music!!! Felicia’s cousins have really helped to cultivate her into the Singer and Performer she is today. There was never a time she would spend time over there when her cousins weren’t putting a brush, broom, or anything similar to a Mic in her hand and requesting that she sing songs that she learned by listening their many records and cassette tapes they had. Her biggest influences are Whitney Houston, Layla Hathaway, Chaka Khan, BabyFace, and Luther Vandross to name a few. These artist left an indelible mark and truly molded Felicia into the developing her own sophisticated and soulful sound. Felicia is honest and very passionate about her singing and songwriting. Of course her parents would have preferred that Felicia go the Gospel route and she absolutely loves singing Gospel music. However, Felicia feels that her music is Ministry maybe not in the traditional way! But it definitely relates to people and everyday life. Some of the subjects she touches on with her songs can really hit home and bless someone in Love, Relationships, Empowerment, Courage, even in sorrow or a loss.

Felicia wrote her first single "Thinking About You" when She was signed to

Untouchables/Laface Records. She always knew that she had writing skills but she never took the time to explore writing original songs, until she was given an empty track by her producer Darin “Piano Man” Whittington and he said "write to this". Since writing her first song she has gone on to write for various recording artist such as Donell Jones, Soul 4 Real, Changing faces and Tamia to name a few. Felicia has also had the pleasure to sing background for the late Great Heavy D, Mary J. Blige, Madonna and Ashanti. She has also had the pleasure of performing at a charity event for Denzel Washington. Felicia's style of vocal embodies words like Classy, Passionate, and Soulful. Her masterful

songwriting skills and mesmerizing vocal style will leave you breathless. Although she exudes a sense of mystery her performance will draw you into her world. Felicia's career continued to flourish when she performed and wrote two songs "YOU" and "BABYBOY" for the film BABYBOY directed by John Singleton.

Here are some of the comments made from journalist across the country in regards to her work on the movie "BabyBoy"

Michael D. Clark critic for The Houston Chronicle stated "Felicia Adams is a solid new voice in a genre in need of a women's touch"

Melodee Sutton of The Hollywood Reporter stated "I'd love to see the title track from John Singleton's Babyboy written and performed by Felicia Adams nominated for an Academy Award"

Felicia developed her own company LadyBoss Enterprize in 2004 when she realized that the industry was changing drastically.  She decided that she was going to take charge of her career and create the music that she always longed to.  That good soulful R&B music that she grew up on she wanted to put a modern spin on it but keep the music reminiscent of the sound that came from greats like Earth wind and Fire, Frankie Beverley and Maze, and Chaka Khan.  While creating her newest project her album "ReBirth"  she took it back to the old school days and hired muscians to come in the studio and play Horns, Live Guitar, Bass, and Drums.  This project took sometime to create but it is finally here and Felicia is estatic about sharing it with the world.

She has already released her first single "Breathe"  along with a video that you can check out here on her site as well as You tube and her Felicia Adams Fan page on Facebook.

Felicia has finally arrived and ready to take the music scene by storm!!!
